Summary of relevant experience:

Davie is a professional business leader, board member, advisor, and kaizen pioneer, with over 34 years’ experience implementing performance improvement and operational excellence across the globe, in diverse organisations.

Equally at home in the board room, on the shop floor, conference stage or in one-to-one interventions, I have an engaging and empathic style that builds rapport quickly.

I was fortunate early in my career to gain extensive training in Japan and was an original member of Nissan’s pioneering Supplier Development Team (SDT), credited with introducing kaizen, and what became known as ‘lean’, to the UK and Europe in 1990.

Globally recognised kaizen practitioner with a passion for systems thinking and keeping things simple. Because simple works.

Very much a hands on, pragmatic operations and supply chain leader, well versed in handling complex issues, demanding time pressures and solving things quickly.

I employ a people centric approach to change management and use a range of coaching and facilitation techniques when working with you.

…and for those that find it important to FadLabel things, I’m a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and licensed NLP Master Practitioner and Coach.

My professional qualifications are from University of Strathclyde in Procurement and Supply Management (MCIPS) and in Business, from the University of the West of Scotland.

My Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt is accredited through the British Quality Foundation.

On joining the business it became clear that a new long term strategy was required to steer the business through a turbulent political and economic environment.

We worked with Davie on developing a strategy that both pointed the business on a route that navigated those challenges but also addressed the wider initiatives of our owning group.

We recognised the need for solid building blocks in areas to improve but with a vision flexible enough to take us through a changing environment.

I’m really pleased to say that our business plan is now routed firmly in c2c and supported by our stakeholders as a step change in the operation of the business.

Davies manner is warm and personable, using his vast corporate experience to draw parallels and help focus the planning sessions.
